Our solution was a double split level, with the garage and entry on the lowest level, a living room and media room up a short set of steps, with the kitchen, dining, and bedrooms on the main level.
Highlight windows in the living and dining areas pick up the northern sun and summer breezes, while a window backsplash in the kitchen ensures the space is light-filled and airy.
